Henry Barnard
Retired Australian Army Captain who now resides in Arlington, VA and now works in the financial industry. Henry joined the Australian Army in July 2008 and has served in various postings culminating in being the lead portfolio planner for the Australian Army's joint exercises with multiple countries and regions including Asia Pacific, North America and Europe with notable achievements including organizing Australia's first joint training in South Korea with the US Marines since the Korean War and leading the planning efforts for the Australian Army's on the world's largest military exercise - Ex RIMPAC. Being a former South African, Henry is an avid supporter of the Springboks in Rugby and the South African Cricket team.
Peter Pennington
Vice President of Finance
Peter has lived in Alexandria VA since 2003 and has been in the United States since 1997. Prior to that he was the executive director of a housing association based in Birmingham, England and the project officer for the Royal British Legion Housing Association working across the whole of the United Kingdom. Peter joined the Royal Navy entering BRNC Dartmouth in September 1964. The next eleven years included leading detached parties to undertake hydrographic work in Ireland, the Seychelles and two years in Antarctica. He also specialized in navigation serving in frigates that went above the Arctic circle and as far east as Guam. He is married to Mary Frances who hails from Memphis TN but he keeps strong connections with Cornwall, England where his children and grand children reside. Peter has a Post Graduate Diploma in Management Studies.
Leonard de Guzman
A former army officer, Leonard is now a resident of Arlington, VA, working in the media and telecommunications industry. Leonard joined the Australian Defence Force out of high school and enjoyed a number of postings around the country, including in the reserves, and continued his public service to the department as a civilian. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed a number of appointments across technical and policy domains, participated in large multinational exercises with the United States, and represented Australia abroad.
Edward Burley
Director of Events
Ed is a retired U.S. Army Brigadier General, and has commanded airborne, infantry, psychological operations, and civil affairs units in Panama, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Iraq, and Afghanistan. He has had the good fortune to have brave British, Canadian, and Australian soldiers in his commands during the recent conflicts. He now serves as a federal prosecutor in Washington, D.C.
Teresa Wolfgang
Director of Fundraising
Teresa Wolfgang is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who has commanded Airborne Civil Affairs units in Iraq and Kuwait, and served as the Assistant Chief of Staff G3/5/7 Operations for the 352d Civil Affairs Command (1-Star). A highly experienced nonprofit director, she formerly served as Executive Director of the Women's Resource Center for the Greater Philadelphia Area. Teresa currently serves as the Education, Development, and Training Team Lead at Axiologic Solutions LLC.
John Rodgaard
Director of Partnerships
John Rodgaard is a retired U.S. Navy Captain with over 41 years of service. He began his Navy career as a petty officer, and spent time on surface vessels before becoming one of the Navy’s first intelligence specialists. He received a direct appointment as a naval intelligence officer, and served with various navy and joint intelligence tours before his final assignment with the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. John is an accomplished author, and among his many publications he has co-authored the book A Call To The Sea: Captain Charles Stewart of The USS Constitution (2005) and authored A Hard Fought Ship: The Story of HMS Venomous (2010). His next book, Yankees in Nelson’s Navy, will be released late 2018.
Earl Rocca
Director of Marketing
Earl began his military career in the U.S. Army Military Police Corps, but subsequently became one of the preeminent experts on Civil Affairs (humanitarian assistance/country rebuilding). He is a retired Frederick (Maryland) Police Department Sergeant, and currently serves as the Command Sergeant Major for the 88th Regional Support Command, based out of Fort McCoy, Wisconsin. Earl was the Civil Affairs Advisor to British Forces in Banja Luka, Bosnia-Herzegovina, and has also served in Iraq and Afghanistan. He and his wife Mitra live in Frederick, Maryland.
