About Us

On November 11, 1918, a group of British and Canadian Officers met in Philadelphia to celebrate the end of the the Great War (now known as World War I). At that informal dinner, the idea of creating a British Officers' Club of Philadelphia was proposed.

The British Officers' Club was originally comprised of British and Commonwealth Officers, British Embassy Consular Officials, plus those United States Officers having served with British Units.

Since then the British Officers' Club has expanded in its initial membership of 20 members in 1918 to several hundred across the United States today.

The primary purpose of the British Officers' Club has always been to foster and promote the friendship existing between Great Britain, her Commonwealth, and the United States of America.

The British Officers' Club also actively supports military charities and service organizations in Great Britain, the Commonwealth, and the United States of America.
